Meet the Ranch Animals!

  • Pico

With his striking sorrel and white coat and classic cow horse build, Pico is the kind of horse you picture when you think "ranch life." Steady, kind, and as reliable as they come, Pico is our go-to guy for pony rides and relaxed trail strolls. Whether you're just getting back in the saddle or building confidence for the first time, Pico is the horse you want under you. He’s patient, sweet-natured, and always happy to take things slow—making him a favorite for riders of all ages.

  • Sierra

With her dreamy champagne chocolate coat and signature glide, Sierra is our Tennessee Walker mare with a whole lot of sass and even more class. She’s smooth as butter under saddle and makes every ride feel like you’re floating through the high desert. Sierra loves covering ground on long trails, turning heads with her unique color, and showing off that signature Walker gait. She’s sweet, spirited, and a total showstopper—perfect for riders looking for a little extra sparkle in their saddle time.

  • Maui

Born and raised right here on Long Hollow Ranch, Maui is as homegrown as it gets. This big-boned gelding is our go-to “husband horse”—steady, unbothered, and built like a recliner with hooves. Riding Maui feels like cruising on a couch, and nothing out on the trail seems to phase him. He’s trustworthy, gentle, and takes care of his rider every single time. Whether you're brand new to horses or just looking for the most relaxed ride of your life, Maui's your guy.

  • Miya

Miya is our wild-hearted mustang with a whole lot of soul. She’s got her quirks—like any true mustang—but she’ll carry you confidently over the rockiest terrain and never misses a step. Miya is all about energy—she mirrors her rider—so when we pair her with the right person, it’s pure trail magic. She’s careful, surefooted, and fiercely loyal once you’ve earned her trust. Ride with Miya, and you’ll not only cover ground—you’ll feel like you’re part of something a little wilder, a little deeper, and a whole lot unforgettable.

  • Diesel

Diesel is the definition of a tried-and-true ranch horse. Back in the day, he was your guy for long days moving cattle, roping, and covering serious ground across the high desert. These days, he’s traded in those big work days for easygoing trail rides and lots of hang time with his best buddy, Buttercup. Diesel still carries that same steady energy—surefooted, dependable, and always ready to show guests what a real ranch horse feels like under saddle. He may be semi-retired, but he’s still got that cowboy heart

  • Janie Loo

At 27 years young, Janie Loo is the queen of the ranch and the heart horse of our Ranch Manager, Jenna. The two met back in 2007, when Janie was teaching kids how to jump with all the patience in the world (well… most of the time). Jenna made her a promise all those years ago—that when Janie was ready to retire, she’d have a forever home and a soft landing. And that’s exactly what she got.

These days, Janie fills her time soaking up sun, demanding scratches, and occasionally causing just enough trouble to keep everyone on their toes. She may be retired, but she still runs the place with her signature sass and sparkle. Jenna is grateful for every single day with this opinionated, sweet, stubborn old mare—and we think you’ll fall in love with her too.

  • Buttercup

Buttercup is our Belgian beauty, born in 2021 and already stealing hearts with every thundering hoofbeat. Don’t let her size fool you—this big girl thinks she’s a lapdog. She’s the first to trot up and say hello, always looking for attention, scratches, or snacks (preferably all three).

Currently being started under saddle, Buttercup is also learning the ropes of pulling a carriage—so keep an eye out for some fun, old-fashioned experiences coming to Long Hollow Ranch soon. She’s curious, gentle, and full of personality. Buttercup may not realize how massive she is, but she knows exactly how to melt your heart.

  • Ranger

With his striking black and white coat and sharp cow sense, Ranger turns heads the moment you see him out in the pasture. This paint gelding isn’t just good looking—he’s got the skills to match. Ranger has some get-up-and-go and loves a job, especially when it involves moving cows or covering ground across the ranch.

Most days, he’s the wrangler’s right-hand horse, but for experienced riders who want a more responsive, push-button ride, Ranger’s your guy. He’s athletic, tuned in, and ready to work—making every ride a little more exciting and a whole lot memorable.

  • Remi

Remi is our trail-riding rockstar with the heart of a golden retriever. This lovable guy will go for miles without missing a beat and is as surefooted as they come. Whether he's winding through rocky terrain or trotting down an open trail, Remi is all about keeping his rider safe and smiling.

With a puppy-dog personality and a serious love for scratches and attention, Remi quickly becomes a favorite of anyone lucky enough to ride him. Dependable, affectionate, and always ready for adventure—Remi is the kind of horse that makes every ride feel like the best one yet.

  • Oreo, Gertie & Daisey Mae

These three Nigerian Dwarf goats are the pint-sized personalities of Long Hollow Ranch. Oreo, Gertie, and Daisey Mae may be small, but they make up for it with big mischief. Whether they’re sneaking snacks, squeezing through gates, or hamming it up for visitors, they’re always up to something.

You’ll often catch them exploring the ranch in the afternoons, popping up near the barns, peeking into tack rooms, or just looking for someone to say hello (and maybe offer a scratch or two). Friendly, feisty, and full of attitude, these gals are always ready to add a little goat-powered charm to your day.

  • Captain

Captain is our friendly, four-legged ranch guardian—and he takes his job of welcoming guests very seriously (especially if belly rubs are involved). This loyal German Shepherd lives on the property and can often be found trotting alongside the horses, supervising chores, or snoozing in a sunny spot near the barn.

Captain is as gentle as he is protective, and he’s always happy to make a new friend—especially if you come bearing treats or kind words. Just one look into those soulful eyes and you’ll know: Captain is more than a ranch dog—he’s part of the Long Hollow family.

  • Amarillo

With her striking eyes and fluffy coat, Amarillo is our German Shepherd-Husky mix and the self-appointed official greeting committee of Long Hollow Ranch. She’s friendly, curious, and always the first to trot up with a wagging tail to say hello.

If you're staying at the Ranch House, don’t be surprised if Amarillo pops by to hang out on the porch—she loves making new friends and keeping guests company. Whether she’s lounging in the sun or making her morning rounds, Amarillo adds a little extra heart to the ranch experience. She might not fit in your suitcase, but she’ll definitely steal a piece of your heart.
