Grit & Grace MOther Daughter Retreat

A Mother-Daughter Retreat at Long Hollow Ranch
One night. One ride. A lifetime of memories.

Slow down and reconnect during this sweet and soul-filled weekend designed just for mothers and daughters. Grit & Grace is a one-night retreat for pairs to unplug, ride side by side, share meaningful time together, and soak up the magic of the ranch without distractions.

Arrive in the afternoon to a cozy welcome, followed by a scenic two-hour trail ride through the high desert. After returning to the barn and turning out the horses, you’ll enjoy a family-style dinner. After dinner, gather at the round pen for a special connection-based horsemanship lesson with one of our beloved rescue horses. The evening wraps up with a fireside s’mores session under the stars—no phones, no rush, just presence.

This is a no-alcohol weekend, centered on bonding, riding, and real connection. We host just three mother-daughter pairs per weekend (a total of six guests), with private lodging and bathrooms for each duo—except for one Mother Daughter pair who will share the cozy Black Butte Room with twin beds (they will still have their own private bath).

$475 per cowgirl

"A woman today is expected to be everything—strong, soft, capable, calm, fearless, nurturing. But out here, we believe it’s okay to just be you. To be wild and wonderful, a little dusty and a little radiant. We believe in raising women—mothers and daughters alike—who carry grit in their hearts to stand firm in what they believe, and grace in their spirits to lift others toward their own greatness. Because cowgirls don’t just ride trails—they blaze them."

FAQs

Q: How many guests can attend?

We host a maximum of 6 guests per Grit & Grace Weekend—three mothers and three daughters—to keep the experience intimate, meaningful, and personalized.

If you’re interested in hosting a larger group or planning a custom mother-daughter retreat, we’d love to chat about accommodation options and see what’s possible. Just give us a call!

Q: Where do we stay?

You'll stay in our historic 130-year-old Ranch House, with private bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. Four bedrooms have queen beds, and one bedroom has two twin beds.

Q: Are meals included?

Yes! All meals are included and cooked fresh by your personal ranch chef. Meals are served in the Ranch House dining room, with one dinner hosted outdoors beside the pond (weather permitting).

Q: What kind of riding experience do I need

None! Our trail rides are guided and beginner-friendly. Whether it’s your first time in the saddle or you're an old hand, we’ve got a horse and a trail pace just for you.

Q: Is alcohol included?

The Grit & Grace Weekend is a dry, alcohol-free experience designed to foster deep connection, rest, and intentional time together.

While we won’t be serving alcohol during this retreat, we’ll keep the Ranch House fully stocked with non-alcoholic options like sparkling water, lemonade, coffee, tea, and creamer.

If there’s a favorite beverage you or your daughter would love to have on hand, just let us know—we're happy to personalize your stay whenever we can. Additional charges may apply based on special requests.

Q: Is there a minimum number of guests required to run the weekend?

Yes—we require a minimum of 4 guests to run each weekend. If a weekend doesn’t meet the minimum, we’ll reach out to discuss rescheduling options or offer a full refund. You’re always welcome to book as a smaller group—we’ll do our best to pair you with another fun crew if spots are available!

Q: Is there an age limit for daughters attending?

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, we recommend this weekend for daughters ages 10 and up who feel comfortable around horses and are able to participate in a two-hour trail ride. That said, every child is different—if you have a younger daughter with riding experience or a question about fit, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to chat and help you decide if this experience is the right match for your pair!

Q: Can I come alone or do I need to book with a group?

You can do either! We welcome solo riders, besties, sisters, or full groups of six. If you're booking solo or with a small group, you may be paired with other awesome women for the weekend.

Q: What should I pack?

We recommend comfy layers, boots or closed-toe shoes for riding, a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and whatever makes you feel cozy and at home.

Q: Can you accommodate dietary restrictions

Absolutely! We’re happy to accommodate most dietary needs or food allergies—just let us know in advance when booking so our chef can prepare accordingly.

Q: Do I have to ride a horse to attend?

Nope! If you’d rather skip the trail ride and just enjoy the scenery, meals, and connection time, you’re still welcome to join. Please note there is no change in pricing, as riding is an included experience whether you participate or not.

Q: What if I’m an experienced rider, but my friends are beginners?

We tailor our rides to match the pace of the most inexperienced rider in the group to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe. If you're an advanced rider looking for more challenging rides, we encourage you to check out our upcoming Wild Woman Weekend, which will offer a more adventurous riding experience.

Q: Can I come alone or do I need to book with a group?

This weekend is designed specifically for mother-daughter pairs, so all bookings must include two guests. Whether you're booking just for you and your daughter, or coordinating with friends to come as a group, we welcome all pairs looking to create special memories together.

If you're interested in planning a private or extended family version of this experience, we’d love to chat—just reach out!.
